About us

Jan and Stuart Abernethy are Lavender Abbey in Carterton, Wairarapa. 

We moved from Wellington to Carterton in 2008 for a lifestyle change where we purchased a 7.5-acre rural property. 

The species of lavender we grow in Carterton, Wairarapa are: Grosso, Violet Intrigue, Rosea, Blue Mountain White, Hidcote, Elizabeth, Myra and Pacific Blue.

Our multi-award-winning 100% pure lavender essential oil and our lovingly handcrafted products are available to purchase on our website - www.lavenderabbey.co.nz

Lavender Abbey is available for wedding photos and wedding bunches.  We are open for farm visits by appointment only and for the month of January annually in the weekends.
