Paula Cosgrove owns and runs Lavender Row in Riverside, just 25 minutes south of Dunedin on the beautiful Taieri Plain. The farm is handy to the airport (10 minute drive) and, for the cyclists amongst you, we’re on State Highway 87 on the way up to Middlemarch and the start of the Central Otago Rail Trail.
The farm is 18.6 hectares of gently rolling pasture which now includes two paddocks of gorgeous lavender. The varieties we currently grow here are Pacific Blue, Violet Intrigue, Grosso, Munstead and Hidcote Blue.
We distil the oil on-site during harvest season, which ranges from December through to February, depending on the weather.
Our award-winning 100% pure lavender essential oil and related products are available to purchase on our website – www.lavenderrow.co.nz as well as at our farm shop. We are open for farm visits by arrangement, and we have BnB accommodation.
